University of Basrah Continues Raising Health Awareness through a Seminar on Zoonotic Diseases

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basrah Veterinary Hospital and the Agricultural Extension Training Center of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension and Training, organized an awareness seminar entitled “The Risks of Zoonotic Diseases”, delivered by Dr. Rahman Kazem Mohsen, a faculty member at the college.

The seminar aimed to shed light on the nature of zoonotic diseases, highlight their risks, and present methods of prevention, in addition to clarifying their health and environmental impacts.

Dr. Mohsen also reviewed strategies for combating these diseases, stressing the importance of adopting regular vaccination programs and continuous field examinations of animals, as they play a vital role in protecting human health, the environment, and animal wealth.
