Basrah University Holds Its Annual Evaluation Conference

The annual evaluation conference of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah was launched under the slogan “In a Scientific Environment and Sustainable Development.”

The conference witnessed an official and high-level attendance, led by the President of Basrah University, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, along with the Administrative Vice President, the Secretary of the University Council and its members, in addition to the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department.

The University President delivered a speech emphasizing the strategic vision, stating:
“The evaluation conference is the university’s message toward excellence. Achieving academic accreditation is a source of pride for our colleges. To reinforce our collective efforts toward advancing scientific and administrative performance, we must continue improving to ensure sustainable development and leadership.”

The conference also included a detailed presentation on the qualitative achievement recently accomplished by the college—obtaining academic accreditation. With this remarkable achievement, the college now stands at the forefront of veterinary colleges as the first in Iraq to earn this accreditation, and the second within the university.

Conference activities covered a comprehensive review of all work axes, from scientific, research, administrative, and technical activities, to community service as an essential part of the university’s mission. The presentations highlighted the significant number and quality of scientific research outputs and completed patents, demonstrating that the academic success of the college extends beyond the classroom to contribute actively to sustainable development.
