University of Basrah Achieves Historic Milestone with First Iraqi and Arab Membership in the International Society for plastination
The University of Basrah has achieved a remarkable scientific milestone at both the Iraqi and Arab levels with the membership of Dr. Alaa Abdul-Khaliq, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, in the International Society for plastination (ISP). This achievement makes Dr. Abdul-Khaliq the first academic and researcher from Iraq and the Arab world to join this prestigious international scientific organization.
Dr. Abdul-Khaliq explained that the International Society for Plasticization is a prominent global scientific organization specializing in anatomy and its modern applications. The society brings together distinguished scientists, researchers, and specialists from leading universities and research institutions across Europe, the United States, and other parts of the world. Its members contribute to the advancement of innovative techniques for the preservation, production, and application of anatomical and histological models.
This achievement reflects the University of Basrah’s commitment to promoting scientific excellence and expanding the international presence of its academics and researchers. It also supports the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasizes empowering national scientific talent and facilitating the integration of Iraqi academics into international professional and specialized organizations.
